Top 5 Travel and Local Apps in Middle East Q4 2022

In the fourth quarter of 2022, the travel and local app market in the Middle East saw significant activity. Here’s a closer look at the performance of the top 5 apps in this category, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Hayya to Qatar experienced a notable surge in weekly downloads, peaking at 163K in the week of November 21. This app also saw a steady increase in weekly active users, reaching approximately 480K by the end of November. However, a decline was observed towards the end of December, with downloads dropping to around 4.4K and active users to about 302K.

Nusuk (Eatmarna Previously) had a mixed quarter. Weekly downloads fluctuated, peaking at 52K in early October and ending the quarter at around 38K. The app's weekly active users saw a decline initially, dropping from 400K to 207K by the end of October, but recovered to approximately 277K by the end of December.

Wego - Flights, Hotels, Travel maintained a relatively stable performance. Weekly downloads averaged around 35K, with a peak of approximately 46K in the last week of December. Active users remained consistent throughout the quarter, fluctuating around 260K and reaching nearly 300K by the end of December.

Booking.com: Hotels & Travel showed consistent download numbers, with a peak of 52K in late November. Active users saw a minor decline from around 1M in early October to 944K in mid-December, but rebounded to approximately 1.1M by the end of the quarter.

Google Earth had steady weekly downloads, averaging around 24K with a slight increase to 30K in mid-October. Weekly active users remained stable, hovering around 600K throughout the quarter and ending with approximately 633K in the final week of December.
